MISSION STATEMENT
To Feed and Clothe the Needy
Kings Things, a 501(C)3 not for profit corporation was founded in 1983 by 5 Swedesboro churches: St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church (Now St. Clare of Assisi Parish), Trinity Old Swedes Episcopal Church, First Baptist Church of Swedesboro, First Presbyterian Church of Swedesboro and Bethesda United Methodist Church of Swedesboro.

Kings Things Christian Thrift Store and Furniture Store are operated by dedicated volunteers currently under the management of Gretchen Kunkle for the Thrift Store, Marilyn O'Rourke-Young for the Furniture Store, and Meredith Cachuela for the Food Pantry. These stores have enjoyed an increase of 100% in sales over the past 10 years and are the main source of funds for the following;

The FOOD PANTRY maintains inventories of donated staples from corporations and organizations such as Zallie's Shop Rite, WaWa, The Greater Swedesboro Business Association, The Kiwanis Club of Greater Swedesboro, The Church of the Latter Day Saints, Bethesda United Methodist Church, and Bushels of Blessings as well as many individual donors. The Food Pantry is a member of The Food Bank of South Jersey which provides us with access to State and Federal Food as well as food from their donations and co-op projects. Some clients may also purchase perishable goods such as butter, bread, and eggs with a voucher redeemable at Bottos Market.
Special Programs
BENEVOLENCE PROJECT: This community outreach project helps clients in need of emergency funds for utilities, and emergency events such as car repairs and funeral expenses.

HOLIDAY PROJECTS:

Thanksgiving Vouchers: Kings Things issued vouchers in amounts ranging from $50 to $120 for holiday dinners. Also, Kings Things purchased 55 dinners in 2020 from Acme Markets

Christmas Giving: In 2024 Kings Things presented over 200 families, including over 400 adults and over 300 children with either a turkey or roasting chicken, supplies for Christmas dinner and food for a week. Eachchild received a minimum of 3 wrapped giftsand each family received a holiday plant.
